Finding first and last elements in a column with a By variable
Hi! I'm investigating what happened to continous variable (tank level in this case) during certain events. I have an Event.Date column that acts as a By variable. Event duration varies, see DayOfEvent column. I want to calculate: LEVEL @ end of event - LEVEL @ beginning of event, i.e. last element - first element by Event.Date. If positive, tank was filled, if negative tank was emptied, if ~0 tank...

Determine significance of difference between percent differences
I have four sets of data from two experiments: one set of "before" measurements and one set of "after" measurements for each experiment. For each experiment, I have calculated a percent difference between the mean of "before" data and the mean of "after" data. I would like to know if the difference between the percent difference calculated for Experiment 1 and the percent difference calculated for...

Help on interpretation of Logistic Fit Y by X
Hello, I observed this problem a few times already, and kindly need help to interprete my data correctly: A nominal outcome (recieved a medication: milrinone) is compared to a continuos variable by Fit Y by X (age in years). A logistic fit X is generated: It appears to me that with higher age the frequency of subjects recieving milrinone is higher. Quite the opposite is true, if I turn the variab...

Propensity score matching in JMP
Hi all.I have a combined dataset (cases and controls). The total number of cases is fixed and controls has double the number compared to cases . Main outcome of the study to see the recurrence of disease after treatment. I would like to run propenisty score matching on this data set. Is there anyway i can run propensity socre in JMP?Appreicate for your advice and suggestions.Pablo

Log-normal process capability
Hi, I have a process that is log-normally distributed and has an upper spec limit, and I'd like to calculate a Cpk. I tried two approaches that gave me different answers: Save spec limit as column property for process. Plot distribution of process, then Continuous Fit --> LogNormal to get a Cpk (checking goodness-of-fit of course)Add new column. Set column formula as log(process), save column uppe...

http Request with authentication using windows identity
I'm using JMP 13.0.0. I'm currently using the function Load Text File (url) in order to retrieve JSON data from a web api running on my company's intranet. The server requires authentication against our windows active directory. Currently, a dialog pops up requesting credentials, and I can manually type in credentials when prompted, but I want my script to run without that manual intervention. ...

How do I change horizontal error bars to vertical error bars?
I am making a graph, and I have the error bar "points" set to "standard deviation". The error bars present are horizontal, and I cannot figure out how to make them vertical. I've attached a screenshot of my graph. Thanks in advanced for the help!

Custom DOE - factor levels
I want to create a custom DOE. I have 1 discrete numeric vatiable with 3 levels (1,2,3). I have 2 covariate factors. I also has 1 continuous variable. The problem is I want the DOE with 5 levels for the continuous factor and JMP is only allowing me 2 levels. Am I doing something wrong when I specify the continuous variable or am I limited to just 2 levels?

Splitting a data table by column id
Hello, I have a large data table that the columns have an ID number followed by words like below, 1-Date1-parameter1-something2-something2-Date2-parameter3-parameter3-Date3-something3-else My ultimate goal is to automate control charts with Date as the sample label. There are not uniform amounts of columns for each ID and they are not sorted by ascending date. My idea is to sp...

repeated-measures ANCOVA: How to perform the analysis when the parallel slope assumpt. doesn't meet?
Hi all,I need to perform the ANCOVA for a repeated-measures design. I tried to adapt the Julian's ANCOVA procedure showed on the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mApbp1RDy-U to my study case (repeated-measures design). Initially, I did the following actions: 1. In the Fit Y by X dialogue: I selected VAR_Y as "Y, Response" and VAR_X as "X, Factor";2. For "Group by" I selected the variable Timepoint;...

Time Series - Prewhiten
Hello Everyone, My question pertains to understanding what the terminology in JMP's prewhiten platform means. Also, understanding how that helps me determine an appropriate Transfer Function that I can use to test whether x causes y. JMP's prewhiten output shows three different ACF's labeled "Prewhiten Corr", "Noise AutoCorr", & "Noise Partial AutoCorr".
What is the Prewhiten Corr, Noise AutoCorr, &...nopon649

Fit Spline By Group: Save Spline Coefficients to Column?
Hi all--having an issue. I am using Fit Y by X to fit 5,000 separate regressions. I hold control, select red drop-down arrow, and Fit->Flexible, Fit->Spline and select, say, 0.1. This fits a spline to all 5,000 graphs with lambda of 0.1. I have 28 X values in each of 5,000 graphs, and I understand there are 4 different spline coefficients (A, B, C, D). I understand if I just had 1 regression...

Why does Profiler not stop
All,
I have a script I am trying to profile and improve on. When I run the script without the profiler, it runs and ends within 4 minutes. When I try to profile the script, even after a good 5-6 minutes, it does not stop. Wondering why this is happening and if there is a way to use profiler and not run into this. I am using JMP 13.uday_guntupalli
