  • Process Screening on I-MR, control limits from within stdev?

Simple question.  Just curious if the within stdev on the IMR version is used for limits (in the absence of a specified sigma).  I'm 99% sure they are, just wanted to confirm, and didn't see this in the process screening report notes.

  • Interpretation of leverage plot axes

    Hello,
I am trying to understand how to interpret the leverage plot axes-- specifically why negative x and y values are plotted when my data have none of these. I understand, I supposed, that negative y values could be the result of model uncertainty, but why the x values? For sake of discussion, if it matters, I am running a multiple regression of rainfall amount (cm), development level of watersh...

  • How to Interpret: Generalized Regression Model with Binary (Categorical) Variables

We’re fitting a model that tests the efficacy of a treatment (e.g., a pharmaceutical product). The DV is Recovered, a binary variable (0/1), defined as numeric nominal. The research question is whether the treatment affects the expression of a precondition and thus improves recovery. We expect that people with certain level of the precondition will react differently to the treatment, i.e., an inte...

  • Partition Modelling: What dictates Minimum Size Split?

I am not a de facto statistician but have gained much experience in biostatistics over many years, thanks largely to using the standard version of JMP (currently v13). I certainly cannot imagine using anything else and regularly promote it.I am presently progressively defining partitions in a variety of continuous variables to optimise outcome in a binomial categorical variable (fail versus pass)....

  • confusion matrix and performance meassures

At present in JMPpro, the only performance meassure automatic calculated from the confusion matrix from a model is the misclassification rate and eventually the AUC of the ROC. Other meassures such as Fase positive and  False negative rates, sensitivity , specificity, negative and positive predictive value, precision/recall (= F1-score) and MCC are commonly described in ML literature and are very ...

  • Models with weight

Hi I'm trying to find a correlation between some X predictors and a continuous response variable strongly skewed on the right. The database contains 140 instances only. First of all I transformed the response variable by using the function lnx+1. Then I normalized all the x in the range 0 and 1, reduced the dimensionality with the screening option and then removed the correlated predictors X. At t...

  • How to do 2-stage least squares (2SLS) / Instrumental Variable regression / Heckman self-selection model

Hi there, Is it possible to do a two-stage least squares model or IV regression or Heckman self-selection model in JMP? Is it also possible to get the inverse Mills ratio? Thanks in advance!
