  • 2 constraints in custom DOE where the sum of two factors should be below 8 or greater than 18 hours

Hi,I would like to run a custom DOE with 5 factors. 2 factors are related to time and due to work hours I have to ensure that the sum of those two factors either are below 8 hours OR greater than 18 hours. The first factor has 0.3 h as low level and 6 h as high whereas the second has 1 h and 20 h. The script below does not work, perhaps because there is an AND hidden...? thanks in advanceDOE( Cus...

  • DOE Custom Design Conituous Factor Quadratic

I have a DOE that I have setup to test for curvature in a continuous factor and the centerpoint that JMP selected is different than what I want to test.  For example: Low: 20Mid (JMP): 60; 50 is what I want to change it toHigh: 100 I can manually adjust the values in the Table of the designed study but I am concerned that the Design Evaluation would then not be accurate (i.e. Power Analysis, Fract...

  • Mixture design question

Hello everybody, I would like to know if it is possible to use a Mixture design if we want to study the impact of the proportion of the mixture factors but also the total quantity of the mixture.Basically I would have two mixture factors (corresponding to the proportion of my 2 components ) and a continuous factor to represent the total quantity of the mixture (e.g. from 100ml to 500ml). Is it pos...

  • Using DOE optimizing a distillation process

Hi Community,I have been asked whether DOE can be used to optimize a distillation process where the feed composition varies from tank to tank. Factors could be Feed Rate, Reflux, Temperature but they are adjusted according to the feed composition and therefore not independent. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

  • Graphically Representing Effects of Interactions when Effect Details Plot is Greyed Out?

Hi all, I have the results of a two factorial DOE with 5 independent variables and 1 outcome. The good news is I know how to run an anova and see which effects or interaction of effects will cause that particular group to be statistically significant. The bad news is that I cannot visualize it and see HOW the interaction is affect my result! For example in below, X3 and X4 have an interaction with ...

  • Could Screening design used for 1 continuous factor, 7 other categorical factors, and 1 categorical response?

I would like to evaluate the influence of 8 factors on the response. There are 1 continuous factor, 7 other categorical factors, and 1 categorical response, and 2 of the categorical factors have 4 levels, one of the categorical factors has 8 levels. Can we use the classic screening design method to design experiments? We want to know the most influential factors among the 8 factors, where we could...

  • Double condition (if)

Hello,  I have a data set with two randomization (code 1 or 2) arm and 5 types (1,2...,5) of interventions and my interest variable is a scale pain (1,... to 10). How can I make a khi2 test analysis between the two arm and my scale pain for 1 of the five intervention. I create a new variable "Chir Abdo - Rando" with formula to make analysis X,Y "Chir Abdo - Rando" in function "EVA <4". For example...

  • Fitting a response surface model with four factors (one factor is a nuisance factor)

I've designed a DoE to study the influence of factors on a filtration process. First, I designed a fractional factorial DoE to investigate 4 factors at two levels (low and high) and also includes two center points. In the evaluation, I find that one of the four factors has no influence on the responses and is not considered in further DoE designs. The design is then augmented to include star point...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
