@txnelson, thanks for the response. The column names are not indicative of the content, they are really screwy tables. That is why i have to locate where the actual data starts, close the table then re-import the full table with the correct row identifying the columns. Your comment though made me realize that i can grab all the column names then do a loop through each column and if it finds the matching cell value then assign the row value to my variable and exit the loop.

I have tables that are generated and the format is different from time to time and it breaks my script. The tables are massive and so the way i handle my loops is that i import the first 100 rows and 5 columns, for speed. Then i search a particular column for a keyword to help me know where which row the real data starts. I close the file then reopen with that variable identifying the column header and data start. However, as mentioned above about 1% of the files are dorked up and have extra columns at the beginning and sometimes a few hundred random rows so it trips up my script. I was thinking that if I can search the whole abreviated table for my keyword then i can get around it but i'm unsure how to search multiple columns at once, especially when the column names change. Here is the method that I currently use to identify my row, looking in a particular column. How do i open this up to search columns 1-10 or even the whole table? //nr1 becomes the column headers and nr2 becomes the first row of data when i reopen the full table. nr1 = dt << get rows where( :Col1 == "customparameter" );

I have a script that creates a graph builder output with a dataset that has a variable number of items in the legend and variable number of frames. I'm able to get the frame tree structure then format them but unable to format the legend. I think I'm close but something is not functional in the very last line. Here's an example script. I have successfully created graph builder charts where i can hover over a point and it shows a hyperlink to an image, this is a super cool feature of JMP15 that I just discovered. But when i add 'Group X' variables I get multiple frame boxes and the number of them is variable based on my dataset. I've found that the gridlets seem to want to have a specific frame box called out in the JSL code though and I was hoping for a better way to deal with it. I'm sure i can setup a loop to look for the framebox count but isn't there an easier way so the gridlet applies to any number of framebox? Dispatch({},"Graph Builder",

I have a script that has been working well for myself and others on JMP14. One person upgraded to JMP15 and now it throws errors. I made the mistake of upgrading also get the same issue and I can't find a work around. I ultimately need the options assigned to a variable for the radio box and a list for the check box. The best I've been able to do now is assign the option Can someone check my code and let me know what might be wrong? Obviously I changed my options to remove my work related stuff. @Craige_Hales I'm searching for a way to shorten the code for the import of these .csv-like files. I have one import that now has about 1000 columns and another with about 360, and this loops through hundreds of files now in a list called "FileList". Thanks Craige. For the initial import to get the row with the column headers I used your advice and used the omit column for columns 2 to 1000 so I only import column 1 with 20 rows, grab what I need then close it. Then I reopen the file but using the information from the first part of the loop to properly select the column header row. I do wish there was a better way to import specific columns for the 2nd part of the loop. In my situation the columns on my raw input file are likely to change order and quantity over time without me knowing. Would be cool if JMP had the ability to specify by name only the columns you want to import.

I have a script that uses an input list to pull files from a directory. The file format is unusual so it takes some manipulation and each file is on the order of 60Mb so imports can take more time than I would want. My issue is that most files have the desired header row on row 15 but about 10% of the files have a header that could be anywhere from row 10-14 and there is no way to know until i open the file. My current solution is to have the script open the first 20 rows, search for the row that contains the headers and assign that row number to a variable, close that dt, then reopen but using the variable as the header and variable + 1 as the first line. It works but it means I'm opening these files twice, though one is a limited preview only. 1) Is there a better way to do this? 2) And while I'm asking, is there a way to import a table but only import the columns that I want, based on name? My files have about 1000 columns and I only need about 15 of them.

Great example, thank you @jcampbell . I am having one issue that I can't seem to resolve. I get an error: Send Expects Scriptable Object in access or evaluation of 'List' , {/*###*/"Pass", "Fail"} I think it is this send command causing the issue.
