What inspired this wish list request?
In our organization, all JMP users (possibly limited to JMP 18) have been receiving a recurring license expression warning message for the past two weeks. This has led to a significant increase in internal IT support cases and user confusion. We advise users to ignore the message, but the lack of a suppression option creates unnecessary noise and inefficiency.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
We would like JMP to include an option to suppress or disable license expression warning messages, either globally via admin settings or locally per user. Ideally, this could be implemented as:
- A checkbox in preferences: “Suppress license expression warnings”
- A scriptable option for enterprise deployment
- A clearer message with context and reassurance (e.g., “No action required”)
This would reduce confusion and improve the user experience, especially in large organizations.
Why is this idea important?
This improvement would:
- Reduce IT support load caused by unnecessary user inquiries.
- Improve user experience by eliminating confusing or misleading warnings.
- Support enterprise environments where centralized license management is in place and such warnings are not actionable by end users.
- Be a must-have for organizations with large JMP user bases and centralized IT support.
