2021 Online Discovery Summit Americas is just around the corner (in fact, registration opens on August 31). On Thursday, October 7th at 5pm ET, there will be a fun virtual social hour all about DOE in everyday life.
The conversation will be about running DOEs for things like optimizing home energy efficiency or developing the perfect cold-brew coffee blend. I'm looking to recruit a handful of people who use DOE for personal projects to help host breakout rooms. No need to prepare anything in advance, just come ready to engage with others and maybe pick up an idea or two along the way!

In a few days, JMP will be sending out an official invite to a free half-day event in Pittsburgh on Jan. 8, 2020. But as members of the local users group, I wanted to give you advanced notice so you could reserve your seat.
JMP will also have information online about the new changes to the software soon, but this event will be a chance to see JMP 15 demoed live and ask questions of our JMP technical experts in-person. JMP will host lunch as well and this will be a great chance for attendees to network and meet up with fellow JMP users in the area.

Hi all, Thanks to JMP, Jerry, and Tim for supplying Panera Bread and showing us some of what is coming in JMP 14 next spring! Based on who was present and some of the discussion. Topics for future meetings (no particular order) include: DOE, Data Analytics, JSL/scripting, Data mining, and sending out a "dataset" to have the group analyze/discuss it during the meeting. Did I miss any topics of interest? What is the order that we should do the topics, or what are the more popular topics? No date was suggested for the next meeting, so keeping with a quarterly meeting mindset here are a few dates for the first quarter that I am suggesting: January 22nd, Monday February 7th, Wednesday March 15th, Thursday I know that HarbisonWalker International is delighted to host and to my knowledge January 23rd is the only unavailable date for the next few months. These are only suggestions, but hopefully this will keep the momentum going.

Since it sounds like Nov. 2nd is the slightly more preferred date for the meeting (and we can avoid any conflicts with Election Day on Nov. 7th). Why don't we say the group will meet Nov. 2nd at HarbisonWalker International, West Mifflin location?
Generally user group meetings last just a few hours. Here's a sample agenda to give you an idea:
9:00 a.m.- Check-In and Networking Time, Light Refreshments Served (JMP can sponsor this for your first two meetings if you'd like. And if there are any preferred vendors or procedures for HWI for catering, just let me know.)
9:30 a.m.- Welcome/Introductions
9:40 a.m.- JMP Presentation #1 (could be a JMP user case study, a how-to talk, tips and tricks, best practices, etc.) 20 to 30 minutes in length, including time for Q&A
10:10 a.m.- JMP Presentation #2
10:40 a.m.- JMP User Group Business- Group discussion to cover- frequency of meetings, preferred meeting dates/times, suggestions for topics to cover in next meeting, volunteers to- help lead group, host or speak at an upcoming meeting, act as point person for this web page and post all updates
11:00 a.m.- Adjourn
Note- This is just a sample. You may want to have more speakers or change your start/end times.
My suggestion for next steps would probably be to schedule a planning call. All members are invited to attend, but especially anyone who wants to be on the leadership team or possibly speak at a future event. JMP is happy to host the call via our WebEx account, but if there is a user who wants to take the reins on this as well, we'd love your help. How does lunch time later this week (Friday, Sept. 22nd?) work to host such a call?

It has been a while since we talked at the JMP 13 roadshow event about the first local JMP user group meeting in Pittsburgh(West PA JUG). Forgive me if you have had some planning conversations since then, but I want to make sure we support you from a planning standpoint and complement the presenting during the meeting if needed. Please post any updates you may have, confirm your interest, topics you may be willing to lead/present, and ability to support a meeting facility. Once we get the logistics covered, we can publicize the meeting and ask our customer care to help publicize.
