5 JMP shortcut keys that I often use (with instructional video)

JMP is characterized by its point-and-click exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis. Sometimes it is faster to use keyboard shortcut keys.

undefined

In this blog, I will introduce five shortcut keys that I often use when analyzing data with JMP. There is also a short video that shows an example of how to use the shortcut, so please check it out as well.

*The shortcut keys introduced here are for the Windows version.

1. move to selected row

undefined

F7: Find the next selected line and make it blink

F6: Find the previous selected line and make it blink

In JMP, when you select an interesting plot point on a graph, the corresponding row in the data table is selected. At this time, it can be difficult to check which rows are selected in a data table with many data rows.

Therefore, you can move to the selected line by pressing the F7 key.

      2. Return to the previous state (Undo)

      undefined

      undo

Undo (go back one step) is familiar in Windows and other software. Even in JMP, it's convenient because you can easily go back to what you did when you made a mistake.

          3. Make text larger/smaller in data tables and reports

          undefined

Ctrl + Shift + "+" (plus): Increase font size

Ctrl + Shift + "-" (minus): Decrease font size

By remembering this shortcut key, you can adjust the font size step by step. In my case, I use smaller fonts for large data tables, and larger fonts for small data tables.

              Four. Launch Preferences

              undefined

              Launch File > Preferences

In "Preferences" you can configure various settings related to JMP. I often use this shortcut when changing the language display from Japanese to English (or from English to Japanese). (Please see the video below for details.)

                  Five.Launch the last used platform

                  undefined

Boot the most recently used platform.

*Some platforms, such as [Model Fit] and [Design of Experiments (DOE)], are not supported.

This shortcut launches the most recently used platform with the specified column role specified. This is useful if you have specified a wrong column or want to perform a similar analysis by adding another column.

As a bonus, the image of the keyboard and hands shown at the beginning of this blog is Ctrl+Q This is where I use the shortcut key.

This is a shortcut for exiting JMP.
