Video using JMP 19 was posted in May 2026.
A process that is off target, too variable or out of control can result in delays, rework, or defects, which in turn often lead to higher costs and unsatisfied customers. Because of this, it’s important to understand and quantify the sources of variation within a process.
Q&A starts at ~29:00.
See how to:
- Distinguish between common cause and special cause variation
- Assess the health of a process, whether it’s for a few variables or many
This webinar covers: Process Capability and Process Screening
Process Performance Graph - Capability vs. Stability
Comment from @PatrickGiuliano , JMP Technical Support regarding questions at live webinar on the ability to change between Ppk and Cpk within the Process Screening Platform:
The Process Performance Graph doesn't allow you to change between Ppk and Cpk within Process Screening Platform. Actually the indices reported are overall (Ppk) indices, even though we have a red line that indicates the "Cpk=1.33 curve." You can get the same plot in the Process Capability Platform under the top red triangle menu > Process Performance Plot. If you study the plots and compare them accross platforms, you should find that they are the same, although one has a red triangle menu option (Process Capability) while the other does not (Process Screening). And, in Process Capability, JMP does not have marker indicators and a legend to specify the location of each process relative to the target.
