One way to manipulate your data in JMP is to "split" a data table, or to separate the data values contained in one (or more) column(s) and place them into multiple new columns.
This may be necessary when your data is in a vertical format and the analysis you want to perform or graph you want to create in JMP requires the data to be structured in a horizontal manner.
In this video, I demonstrate how to use the Split dialog and walk through a few examples, displaying the capabilities JMP offers for this type of data manipulation.
