The new JMP15 Cols>Utilities>Recode Column Names looks like a handy way to make bulky column names shorter. However, I often actually need to retain the information held in those original column names, no matter how convenient in the short term the new short name is. It would be nice if the original long name could optionally be saved to the Column Info Notes Property or some equivalent.
An additional feature would be if I could switch back and forth between the short and long versions of the names. I'd use the short names during my analyses, but the long name for presentations.
