Graph builder heat map legend interaction

I would like to suggest the ability to click on the heat map legend when "discrete colors" is clicked on the gradient setting.  So in the picture below when I clikced on the bin between -20 and -30 that data would be selected.

The interactivity of the gradient settings should be improved in general:
further ideas towards more direct mouse interactivity: live view for gradient settings and mouse control for color gradient
