How to completely remove all system and configuration files from JMP for Windows

Background


It is sometimes necessary remove all JMP files from a system. Follow the steps here to completely remove all JMP system and configuration files from a Windows system.

Note: The steps below require full administrative rights. If you do not have full administrative rights on your computer, you will need assistance from your IT team.

Steps


Uninstall JMP

  1. Navigate to Control Panel
  2. From the Programs category, select “Uninstall a Program”
    (From the Icons view, find Programs and Features)
  3. Find and uninstall all JMP versions on the system. Once all JMP programs are uninstalled, reboot the computer

Remove JMP Program Folder

  1. Once logged back into Windows, navigate to C:\Program Files\SAS\
    (Note: For JMP 18, navigate to C:\Program Files\)
  2. Find all “JMP” and “JMPPRO” folders and delete them.

Remove JMP Customization Data

  1. Now open a Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + the R key
  2. In the Run dialog box, type %appdata% and press Enter
    This will open the current user’s Application Data Roaming folder (appdata/roaming). If more than one user uses JMP on this system, you will need to navigate to each user’s AppData Roaming folder.
    Remember the AppData folder is hidden, and you will need to unhide it. See this Microsoft article on how to unhide system folders:

  3. In the AppData Roaming folder, find and delete all “JMP” and “JMPPRO” folders

Remove JMP ProgramData Folder

  1. Open a Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + the R key
  2. In the Run dialog box, type %programdata% and press Enter
  3. In the Program Data folder, open the SAS folder
  4. In the SAS folder, find and delete all “JMP” and “JMPPRO” folders
  5. Open a Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + the R key
  6. In the Run dialog box, type %programfiles% and press Enter
  7. In the Program Data folder, open the SAS folder
  8. In the SAS folder, find and delete all “JMP” and “JMPPRO” folders

All JMP system and configuration files should now be removed from your Windows system.
