Background
In JMP 17.1, JMP updated the Google Sheets connection method due to changes in Google’s access requirements.
This change requires the removal of the old authorization tokens provided by Google and reconnecting to your Google account. Failure to remove the old Google authorization tokens will result in an error (see JMP Note 579563). The following instructions show you how to remove the old Google authorization tokens and successfully connect Google Sheets using the new method.
Remove Old Google Authorization Tokens and Reconnect Google Sheets
Remove old Google authorization tokens
For Windows:
- Press Windows key + R to open a Run window
- Enter %APPDATA%\SAS\JMP
- Press Enter
- Find all files that are named OAuthTokens and delete them
For macOS:
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder…
- Enter ~/Library/Application Support/JMP
- Find all files that are named OAuthTokens and delete them
Authorize JMP to access your Google account
- Open JMP
- Select File > Internet Open > Google Sheets
- Enter your Google Account email address for Google account
- Enter the Google Sheet web address for Spreadsheet URL or ID
- Click Settings
6. In the Sign in with Google window, click Launch Browser
7. Select the Google account you want to use to sign in
8. Click Continue
9. In the browser window that opens, copy the web address (URL) from the address bar (see yellow outline)
10. Paste the web address in the Sign in with Google window (outlined in blue)
11. You will be presented with the import settings for the Google Sheet you are attempting to import.
You have now connected your Google Sheet to JMP.
