analyzing nominal data columns with multiple comma-separated entries

JMP experts, I remember an online webinar last year where the presenter was able to graph, or analyze, data with regard to a nominal data column having multiple entries that were separated by only a comma (no space).  Some variables were in multiple rows, but not all.  This may have been a webinar (as I recall while typing this) where the column has something to do with a wide variety of personality traits, and each subject was assigned multiple traits all within a single cell and each separated by a comma.  The analysis was able to utilize the data, but I cannot figure out how (in JMP 14 Pro).

Re: analyzing nominal data columns with multiple comma-separated entries

I think you are looking for the multiple response setting for your modeling type. Right click on your column, select column info, then in the modeling type drop down select "Multiple Response". The platforms in JMP that recognize Multiple Response type (such as distribution and the consumer research platform).

Here is the link to high level help on the multiple response column property.
