Output Grid Table feature under Prediction profiler grey-out/deactivated

Hi,

I ran  a DOE that has 27 factors (continuous) and with a disallowed combination. The Output Grid Table feature is grey-out under the Prediction Profiler. I was thinking it could be too many factors. I reduced the total factors to 3 in the model and even tried to reduce the grid points to 2, the Output Grid Table remain grey-out. Can someone help to explain why this could happened and how I can force to activate it? I have 512GB of memory

Hi @dadawasozo,

The problem you face is not linked to the number of factors. If you have a large number of factors, a memory allocation message might be displayed for the grid table.

I think the Output Grid Table is greyed out because you have a design with disallowed combinations. Hence, it is not possible to create a grid since some combinations won't be possible. 
There are several alternatives :

  • Use the option Output Random table 
  • Use the Simulator, define the type of distribution you want for each of your factors, and then create the table
  • Save your prediction formula, create a new table with the grid you want for your factors (by creating a custom design with discrete numeric factors or using Cartesian Join), and then paste the prediction formula of your original table on this new prediction table.
