Formula used to calculate upper CI

Hi all,

Does anyone know what is the formula used to calculate the upper CI for the standard deviation in the distribution platform > confidence interval?

Re: Formula used to calculate upper CI

The distribution platform displays the 95% upper and lower confidence intervals of the Mean, If you want confidence intervals for the StdDev, then try using the bootstrap option to get the bootstrapped upper and lower confidence intervals.

The formula for the standard deviation confidence interval is usually this:

I believe these are the formulas that JMP is using for the standard deviation confidence intervals that are available from the Distribution variable name > Confidence Intervals menu choice..
