Exporting data table to SAS: SAS catalog file

I want to share a data table file with a colleague in SAS format. I am asked to include a SAS catalog file but that is not specifically created when I export as SAS format. Can my colleague use the .sas7bdat file without the catalog file?

Re: Exporting data table to SAS: SAS catalog file

Your colleague will be able to open your JMP file saved in sas7bdat format.  A SAS Catalog file is not required.
