Darshan Hiranandani : Seeking Help on Adding New Columns to Find a Regression Line
Hi everyone,
I’m Darshan Hiranandani, working on a project where I need to calculate a regression line, and I want to know how I can add new columns to my table to make this calculation.
Can anyone share the best approach for adding these columns and determining the regression line in my dataset? Any tips or methods you use would be really helpful!
Looking forward to your suggestions and guidance. Thanks in advance!
Regards

Re: Darshan Hiranandani : Seeking Help on Adding New Columns to Find a Regression Line
Welcome to the JMP Community.
I am not quite sure how to answer this question.
Do you already have a data table, and you want to perform a regression on the data and you are thinking that it will create new columns that will contain the results of the regression? That would be the approach one would take in Excel, but not in JMP. In JMP, one would go to
Analyze=>Fit Model
and then in the dialog box that would be displayed, you would indicate what regression model you want to run. It would then produce a report output.
But what I would first suggest is that you go to the Help pull down menu in JMP and select Quick Start. It will give you a good overview of how to work with JMP.
