Column snapping in JMP 19 Student Edition macOS

Changing to JMP 19 Student Edition on macOS I noticed column snapping is activated, i.e. horizontal scroll by pixel is no longer possible. Is there any setting or workaround to bring it back?

Hello @NullIbex976798, are you referring to any specific sample data set in JMP? I am also running JMP Student Edition 19 on a Mac, and horizontal scrolling works for me as usual. The only setting preventing horizontal scrolling which I am aware of is a scroll lock per column (right-click column name in Columns panel on the left side of the data table). Best, Volker

I believe this was an intentional change to JMP.  I'm not a big fan of it either, especially as implemented, because shift-scroll-wheel doesn't seem to do anything if you scroll just a little -- you have to scroll a lot to get the window to change, which makes it feel broken.

This same issue is happening in JMP Pro 19.0.3.  It seems it's an intentional change for JMP 19.  Very frustrating to work with; would really like there to be an *option* for pixel-by-pixel scrolling after a decade plus of working with it (not to mention, every other data application working with pixel-by-pixel scrolling).  The snapping is problematic when looking through data with very wide columns.

I've confirmed that this is indeed the intended behavior in JMP 19, although I don't know whether or not the change was driven by the major upgrades to the data grid.  Implementing a "toggle" to allow the user to switch back to smooth scrolling has been requested and is under consideration.
