I wanted to check whether anyone else is seeing performance issues with JMP v19 (specifically v19.1). I'm on an Intel Mac at the moment.
A few times now, I’ve managed to get JMP into a state where it becomes extremely sluggish. Most UI interactions take on the order of 3 - 5 seconds to respond to clicks, which is clearly an issue. The machine has plenty of RAM, and I've been working with relatively small files and simple operations. The only way I’ve found to recover is to quit and relaunch JMP, after which it behaves normally again.
I’ve noticed this twice during multi-file imports, but I haven’t been able to reproduce it reliably. I’ve also seen it occur outside of multi-file imports, so it doesn’t seem to be limited to that workflow.
At this point I’m not sure if this is something specific to my setup or a broader issue. If anyone else is running into similar behavior, it might be helpful to compare notes and gather a bit of data to help point the JMP team in the right direction.
If you’ve seen this, it would be great to know:
- Your exact JMP version (19.0.1, 19.1, etc.)
- OS version
- Intel vs Apple Silicon vs. Windows
- What you were doing when the slowdown started
- Whether quitting/relaunching resolves it for you
