FAQ: What is the default location for the JMP.per file on Windows OS?

When JMP is launched the following hierarchy is used for searching for the license file:

  1. Registry Entry location
  2. User's AppData folder
  3. JMP Install folder

Also, if the administrator wanted to change the registry key JMPPerPath to a non-standard location, it needs to be noted that this is not set until JMP is opened the first time, which will cause JMP to ask for the SID file upon first run.

  • After opening it the first time, JMP will recognize the JMPPerPath location
  • To avoid this, the administrator will have to run a registry add routine to change the JMPPerPath via a REG file
