If you uninstall any version of JMP that you have installed, for example because you installed a newer version of JMP, the file association information for JMP formats is removed.
This can result in JMP not launching automatically when you double-click a .jmp file, and the icons for JMP format files may change.
If this happens, you can either reinstall the version of JMP you want to use as the default, or do the following:
- Log in with an ID that has administrator privileges on the PC.
- Start the version of JMP you want to use as the default.
- Select [File] → [Preferences] from the menu bar.
- Click [Windows Only] in the "Preference Group" list.
- Click the Reset Associations button.
- Verify that a message is displayed indicating that the reset has been completed.
After this, close JMP, log out, log in with your regular ID, and try double-clicking the .jmp file.
