When I run a survival analysis, I sometimes see the summary say "biased." What does this mean?

In a Kaplan-Meier fit, if the survival times are sorted from shortest to longest and the last data point is censored, the mean estimate displayed in the "Summary" will be marked as "Biased."
This average is adjusted to account for censoring, but the estimate is biased and an underestimate because the last data point is censored.
