This blog is part of the series on new interactive HTML functionality for JMP 19.
Word clouds (an option in Text Explorer) allow the user to see a visual representation of the frequency of words in text data. In previous versions of JMP, word clouds were exported to interactive HTML as static images, but with JMP 19, they have become interactive. Users of the exported HTML can now quickly and easily match words in the word cloud to their listings in Text Explorer tables.

As in JMP, selections are reflected across all relevant word clouds and tables in the report, which can be seen in this more complex example with four word clouds (the main one plus three for cluster analysis), as well as term and phrase list and cluster probability tables:

Most of the selection methods available in JMP are also available in interactive HTML, namely left-click (select only the item clicked on or clear selections if clicking a clear space in the word cloud), ctrl-left-click (toggle selection of the word clicked on), and shift-left-click (add the word clicked on to those selected). However, clicking and dragging for selecting multiple rows in a table is not supported at this time.
Also, hovering over words in a word cloud will bring up a tooltip with the frequency (main word cloud) or probability (cluster analysis word clouds), just as in JMP.
