We consider several factors when looking for what ideas to add to JMP. This includes what will have the greatest benefit to our customers based on scope, needs and current resources. Product ideas help us decide what features to work on next. Additionally, we often look to ideas for inspiration on how to add value to developments already in our pipeline or enhancements to new or existing features.

Time Profiler - Include ability to save how long code blocks take to run

What inspired this wish list request?

We currently run a very long JSL script. We'd like the ability to save the time each line of code takes once the Time Profiler runs so we can use it to find speed improvements over time. Currently, we have to run every script with the Time Profiler & look for time differences by making a change & then re-running the Time Profiler

What is the improvement you would like to see?

The ability to save the amount of time each line of code takes into a text file would be helpful to compare scripts over time. This way, there wouldn't be a need to re-run scripts when asked about a specific function or statement, the data would already be accessible.

Why is this idea important?

Data is constantly increasing & with it, scripts take longer to run. The ability to identify code blocks that are causing slowdowns are critical to maintain efficiency.

I'm currently using JMP 17.0.0.
