Sample Size Explorers Default Values

What inspired this wish list request? 

I regularly have to use the Sample Size Explorers and have to retype the standard values we always use for the Explorer Settings.

For example, select DoE > Sample Size Explorers > Power > Power for One Sample Mean.  For Test Type I will always choose "One-sided", for Alpha I will always type "0.2" and for Is the population ... known? I will always choose "No".  

This is the case for all of the DoE > Sample Size Explorers > Power Platforms.

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

Like every other platform in JMP, allow me to "Set Preferences". So that I don't have to retype them every time I use them.

 

Why is this idea important? 

This would increase ease of use, speed calculations and increase accuracy

Thank you for this suggestion @dean_boerrigter. You're correct, you can't set preferences with changes to defaults for the Sample Size Explorers, but this has been on our to-do list.

In the meantime, if this is work you do frequently, you can save a script to capture changes to the Explorer settings, and convert this into an add-in - i.e. create a custom menu with explorers you use, with the changes to the default explorer settings. Not sure if this helps, but it's one option.
