SQL Console Functionality for Databricks Simba Spark ODBC Connections

What inspired this wish list request? 

The SQL Console is only available for certain Data Connectors. The SQL console is not available when making a ODBC connection to Databricks using the Simba Spark ODBC driver. 

 

 

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

Enable SQL console when making a ODBC connection to Databricks using the Simba Spark ODBC driver to allow the user to input SQL from Databricks

 

Why is this idea important? 

Our organization uses Databricks heavily as its data warehouse and analytics platform. QueryBuilder doesn't support the advanced queries we regularly use and it is much easier to write and test queries in Databricks' SQL platform then in JSL. Often I stay in Databricks rather than moving over to JMP for data analysis even though I would prefer to do so.
