A few user interface ideas for you around the red square options.
1) add a selection option for 'view all options' to the menu. That way you don't have to have someone tell you to alt-click. I've been using JMP for several years and just learned this trick.
2) in the 'view all options' pop up, add an 'apply' option that will apply changes without closing the popup. That way I can see the effect of my changes without having to reopen the dialog box.
