Keep log file forever

What inspired this wish list request? 

I've noticed that once you exit JMP, the Log file is cleared. Even if I work in JMP Project environment, and save my work as a JMP Project, the Project log is also cleared when exiting JMP - this is something I really do not want, since I want to keep track of my workflow within project.

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

I want to have all my workflow saved forever (until I decide to clear the log myself). This should be an option in the Preferences, to choose whether you want to save log file forever or clear it when exiting JMP. Also, next to this option should be an optional pathway which user can choose where the log file is saved. 

Why is this idea important? 

To have a track of your past workflow, which is important when reviewing your models and reports.

maybe save the log a specific folder when JMP is closed - or on a regular basis.

An infinite log file will be quite bulky. But maybe there could be an option to inspect and re-activate old log files.

Sure, but you have to remember to save the log file :).

"save log files" : as a suggestion to be implemented in a standardized and automatic way in JMP .

Mit einer einstellbaren maximalen Größe der Protokolldatei könnten sehr alte Einträge automatisch verworfen werden. Dann müssten sich die User nicht manuell darum kümmern.
