What inspired this wish list request?
Heatmap bins in GraphBuilder can have Rectangular and Hexagonal shape.
For Hexagonal shape there is a slider available to adjust the size of the bin:
For Rectangular shapes, such a slider is missing. In this case, the bin size is determined by Jmp.
Via axis settings/bin increment, the user can try to influence the decision, but often without success:
At the latest, with the next axis range change, Jmp will decide on its own which bin size is best.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
For rectangular heatmap bin shapes, please provide an option to determine the bin size - like it is already available for hexagonal bin shapes.
Especially: square bins of 1x1 - for wafermaps.
Why is this idea important?
At the moment, it's "difficult" to create wafermaps with 1x1 bin size.
especially
- if there are more than 20x20 bins
- if some bins are missing (sparse grid)
- if the user doesn't want to use the Map Shape functionality of Graph Builder
A setting for the bin size will bsolve the issue
