Heatmap + Data filter: speed up the graph generation

☐ cool new feature
☐ could help many users!

☑ removes a „bug“

☐ nice to have

☐ nobody needs it

heatmaps get built without local filter applying and after it is ready local data filter is applied

If a large data set is used which can just be displayed with a local data filter applied, the generation of the Heatmap Plot will take minutes.

Please solve this issue.

clever/dirty workaround: start with points and switch to Heatmap after jmps applied the data filter.

speeding up heatmap graphs?

Hi @hogi - thank you for this suggestion.  When you have a chance to try JMP 17, I would suggest testing your original script again.  Many platforms have been updated to use the filtered data view on the first launch, rather than running with the full data and then filtering down.  Not all platforms can do this, because some platforms terminate early if there is not enough data to analyze.  Graph Builder definitely benefits from this change in JMP 17, so I hope you will see your scripts running faster without requiring a workaround.
