Embed Shape Files

☐ cool new feature
☐ could help many users!
☑ removes something that feels like a „bug“
☐ nice to have
☐ nobody needs it

What inspired this wish list request?

Graph Builder Plots with Shape Maps are wonderful  - but it's frightening to share data tables with such plots.
The structure is fragile - often the shape files get lost "on the way".

What is the improvement you would like to see?
Please provide a way to "embed Shape files" in the data table.
The idea:
scan the data table and search links to shape files. If a link to a custom shape file is found, the 2 shape files are "added" to the data table.
e.g. as scripts which create the shape files on the fly.
Please also provide a way to "copy embedded shape file" to the local system (*) .

(*) link to other wish to store shape files in a folder with user-write-access:
Allow user to define a custom directory for background map boundary files.

Why is this idea important?

Shape Maps are wonderful - but it's too complicated to work with them.

Some automatic features in JMP could help.

☐ cool new feature
-> no
but:
☑ allows users to use a cool feature: Map Shapes

In addition to the mentioned feature i like to add this to the WishList

An JMP implemented UTM Conversion for map files other than degree would be great.

Alternative shape file location handling option as mentioned would be great as the installation directories are often not accessible in larger organisations.
