We consider several factors when looking for what ideas to add to JMP. This includes what will have the greatest benefit to our customers based on scope, needs and current resources. Product ideas help us decide what features to work on next. Additionally, we often look to ideas for inspiration on how to add value to developments already in our pipeline or enhancements to new or existing features.

Easy way to connect to SharePoint lists and files stored on a SharePoint/OneDrive

What inspired this wish list request? Challenges with establishing the ability to pull data from SharePoint lists and/or files stored on sharepoint.  SharePoint is a tool that is used for managing tasks and incoming work.  There are several instances where we would like to be able to pull from these lists to use the data for metrics and dashboards.  Connecting to the lists and having the ability to pull in files (.jmp, .xlxs, .csv) that are stored on the SharePoint is very important to use.

What is the improvement you would like to see?

Something similar to what is available to Google Docs to allow easy access to import SharePoint lists and documents stored on a SharePoin

Why is this idea important?

To ensure metrics are accurate and up to date.

To work with JMP documents saved on Sharepoint, we found that syncing the Sharepoint site to our computer works well. Then you can access the files in Windows file explorer - the same as any locally stored file.

Now just need a way to lock files so that multiple users do not open the same file and edit it then have to save copies
