Change on Col Standardize function

What inspired this wish list request? We need to center only the data but not center and reduce (dividing by standard deviation).

What is the improvement you would like to see? Add a new function optionnal argument to define if we don't want to divide by the standard deviation and just make a center calculation.

Why is this idea important? Could be usefull and we don't have to code this function. Better performances.

Hi @guillaumebugnon , do you refer to the transforms which are available via right click - new formula column?

Please have a look at Normalization GUI .
I hope this is what you need - it creates a normalized column interactively via the GUI

A user can create such results manually with a column formula.

In combination with other cool features of JMP (like excluded rows) this is dangerous - or more complicated.

The  Normalization GUI helps the user to escape the traps.

New Formula column/ Distributional: "Normalize" 

Add normalization and robust statistical functions (and matrix functions) 

The ideal solution: 
A Transform which can be used via right click / new formula column.

hopefully as versatile and fast as the Normalization GUI ...

When I understand  @Jeff_Perkinson correctly, even a very simple case like: subtract the mean cannot be created manually by a user via a custom transform - it has to be implemented by JMP development team:

once Col MAD() is available [Add normalization and robust statistical functions (and matrix functions) ], I will add (x - Median)/MAD as an alternative option to   Normalization GUI ...
