Add Ability to Open Encrypted Excel Files in JMP

What inspired this wish list request?

We encountered an issue when trying to open Excel files that have been encrypted and labeled using Microsoft Purview Sensitivity Labels in JMP 18. This problem prevents us from accessing important data due to the encryption applied to these files.

What is the improvement you would like to see?

We would like to see the ability to open encrypted Excel files (encrypted with AES256-CBC and labeled with Microsoft Purview Sensitivity Labels) reintroduced in JMP. This would enable us to work with our encrypted datasets seamlessly within JMP.

Why is this idea important?

This feature is crucial for our workflow as we frequently work with encrypted and labeled files for security and compliance reasons. Without the ability to open these files, our data analysis process is significantly hindered, impacting our productivity and the effectiveness of our work. Reintroducing this capability would greatly enhance our efficiency and ensure we can fully utilize JMP for our data needs.
