Fun & Games

In this episode of JMP Can Do That, appropriately titled Fun and Games, Jordan Hiller gives us a look at the JMP Scripting Language (JSL), a full and robust programming language that powers JMP. By examining (and playing) JSL version of popular games like Sudoku Solver, Battleship, Asteroids, Tetris, Tanks he’ll show you how JMP can be both productive and fun. In addition to seeing the JSL code behind used behind the Battleship game, tune in to find out how Jordan fares against JMP’s AI (as programmed by JMP’s own Brady Brady).

Games include:

Battleship

Buzzword Bingo

Asteroids

Tetris

Tanks

Boggle

Available as add-ins:

Sudoku Solver

Colossal Cave Adventure

Corrections added 4/20:

  • The creator of the Asteroids, Tetris, and Tanks scripts is Alex Mamchik. His name was misspelled in the journal from the video. Our apologies Alex!
  • When playing Tetris, use the space bar to drop a piece into place.
