Issue
Upon initial launch of JMP 19 Student Edition, user authorization is required.
After entering your email address and the verification code, JMP may close.
Subsequent launches of the program result in the same issue: JMP closes and is not authorized.
This is a known issue for JMP 19 Student Edition on MacOS only. A folder required for authorization is created with incorrect permissions.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Step 1: Download the JMP Student Edition Repair tool.
Step 2: Unzip and launch the tool, and then click Proceed.
Step 3: Enter administrative credentials for MacOS and click OK.
Step 4: Click OK to confirm completion.
Step 5: Uninstall JMP 19 Student Edition by moving the application to the Trash.
Step 6: Download and install JMP 18 Student Edition from my.jmp.com.
While we develop a fix in version 19, JMP 18 Student Edition should be used on MacOS.
