The Recent Files window in JMP verifies the availability of the files in its list. If a file in the Recent Files list that resides on a network drive becomes unavailable, JMP can stop responding while waiting to verify it.
If you are experiencing this issue, it is recommended that you upgrade to JMP 15 or a newer version.
