The JMP.PER file is built from a JMP® SID license file
The SID file has a standard naming convention: JMPvvv_oooooo_ssssssss_ccccccc.txt
- v = version of JMP the SID can be used with
- o is the order number the SID was delivered with
- s is the site ID
- c is the computer platform (i.e. Windows or Mac).
When the SID file is applied to JMP in a manual installation, it creates another file called a JMP.PER file. The PER file contains abbreviated information from the SID that allows it to license the product for use during the given time frame. The JMP PER is a protected text file and the name of the file (JMP.PER) should not be changed nor should the contents be changed as this will invalidate the file.
For Windows:
JMP on Windows provides two storage locations for the JMP PER file with the default location being the JMP Program Files Folder.
- User's AppData folder: C:\Users\{UserID}\AppData\Roaming\SAS\JMP\{version}\
- JMP Program Files folder C:\Program Files\SAS\JMP\{version}\
JMP searches these locations in the order listed. The default location is the JMP Program Files folder.
For Mac OS:
The JMP.PER file is located here:
- /Users/{UserID}/Library/JMP/{version}
- Select Go from Finder menu
- Select Go to Folder
- Type in: ~/Library/
- Open the JMP folder
- Open the {version} folder
Additional information about JMP License files can be found in the JMP Deployment Guides.
Any licensing issues should be directed to JMP Technical Support.
