JMP Installation Support for JMP® Presentation Virtualization (PV) and JMP® for the Cloud Versions

JMP® Presentation Virtualization (PV) or JMP® for the Cloud licenses cover the legacy PV agreements and the new JMP for the Cloud packaging. The level of support and what is supported remain the same.

A JMP Presentation Virtualization license grants organizations the right to install JMP on a Windows Server operating system and allow licensed users to connect to the server using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) with individualized accounts to access the JMP software.

Each user account should have a minimum of 4 GB of RAM. Additional minimum system requirements are listed on the JMP System Requirements page.

JMP can be installed on a traditional server or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution. End users can use RDP (or Terminal Services), to sign in to a server-side account to access JMP.

Due to configurations and security policies unique to every organization (including security software, Active Directory settings, and Group Policy rules) the details and process of configuring the Windows Server and VDI solutions are outside the support area of JMP Technical Support. While we may provide suggestions that have worked for other organizations, we cannot guarantee these suggestions will work in your IT environment. We recommend for server configuration settings, you contact your IT Team and consult the technical support of your server software vendor, including Microsoft, VMWare, and/or Citrix.

Commercially available presentation virtualization software, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix and VMWare Horizon, may be utilized for publishing applications but only for non-streaming modes. No virtualized applications are supported.

The end user client software, such as Citrix Receiver or VMWare Horizon, must be either a Windows OS client or MAC OS client, not a tablet, phone, or any other portable device.

JMP should only be available to authorized end users as identified through the appropriate Active Directory security group(s).

A virtual application is software that runs on an end user’s computer without actually being installed on the device.  The virtual applications are installed and hosted on a server located either on-premises, in a data center, and/or in the cloud.  End users access these applications remotely through their browser or a software client that enables users to view and interact with the virtualized applications.
