[JMP 16 and later] On Windows, there are issues with not being able to select or scroll columns in the launch window or data table.

If you are installing JMP on a Windows operating system with an Intel Iris Xe graphics card, you may experience the following issues in JMP 16 and later versions of JMP:

  • Latency when scrolling through JMP data tables
  • There is a delay when entering text or numbers in JMP
  • Unable to Select Items Such as Columns in the Launch Analysis Window
  • Can't add columns or rows to JMP data table

If you encounter any of the issues above, try the following workarounds:

  1. Launch JMP.
  2. Select [File] → [Preferences] from the menu bar.
  3. Click "Windows only" in the list on the left.
  4. Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration for graphs" on the right.
  5. Click the [OK] button and close the preferences window.
  6. Exit JMP and then relaunch it.

Note 1: Use Hardware Acceleration for Graphs is on by default starting with JMP 16. It is off by default in earlier versions of JMP, so there are no issues even if they are running on the same machine.

Note 2: This FAQ is based on the contents of the Problem Note below.
