Problem
Users may experience performance issues in some use cases when analyzing data using the Fit Oneway Platform in JMP 17. This may occur in the following circumstances, with Jittering enabled:
- When the number of rows is relatively large in the analysis (e.g., in the tens of thousands).
- When rows across the categorical or nominal X variable contain multiple missing values (despite these rows not being included in the analysis).
Solution
In such cases, it is recommended that users do the following:
- Turn off Jittering. A plot similar to the Oneway report can be generated in Graph Builder for enhanced visualization to support the non-jittered Oneway analysis report.
- Leave Jittering enabled. Analyze data in smaller subsets (using the principles of rational sampling) for larger data sets or in cases where multiple missing values are present.
- Leave Jittering enabled. Perform the analysis on a separate copy of the data table with missing observations (across the levels of the X variable) removed.
