File Exchange transitioning to JMP Marketplace

Since its launch in October 2024, the JMP Marketplace has served as a central hub for secure, quality-controlled JMP extensions. To offer you the best possible experience, we're streamlining our platforms and phasing out the File Exchange.

Here are the key dates to remember:

  • July 7, 2025: The File Exchange will no longer accept new submissions.
  • End of 2025: The File Exchange will be removed permanently.

We encourage all users who want to share their JMP extensions to publish them directly to the JMP Marketplace. As long as your extension meets our guidelines, we'd love to see it there! Please note, JMP reserves the right to remove any content from the JMP Marketplace at our discretion.

How to submit your extension to the JMP Marketplace

Ready to share your innovative extensions with the JMP community? We've made the submission process straightforward. You can find comprehensive information on our guidelines and the JMP Marketplace validation process here.

To submit your extension, simply complete this form.

Here are the minimum requirements for submitting an extension:

  • The extension file as a .zip: This can include an add-in, journal, data connector, dataset, or other relevant files. If you're submitting a single .jsl file, we highly recommend consolidating it into an add-in.
  • At least one image: A screenshot illustrating the extension's interface is perfect.
  • Metadata information: This includes details like compatible hosts, JMP versions, and JMP product compatibility.
  • A clear description: Outline how to use your extension effectively.

If you have any questions about the JMP Marketplace submission process or testing, don't hesitate to reach out to us at jmpmarketplace@jmp.com.

Does "File Exchange" refer to the AddIns subgroup or to all the data stored in AddIns, Scrips and SampleData ?

@hogi Definitely the Add-in portion. There are very few submissions to the Scripts and Sample Data sections so I don't foresee their removal having much impact.

sounds good.

from point of view of the Marketplace, there is little difference between AddIns and the whole File Exchange.

From the File Exchange's point of view, it's a good idea to keep the /Scripts and Sample Data folders.
People can continue to share small snippets via the File Exchange without having to submit them to the Marketplace.

And for AddIns in the File Exchange, users can decide if it's worth to polish it for the marketplace - or to share it as a snippet.
