Steven Johnson makes the case that collaboration plays an important role in innovation.
Do you get excited about interdisciplinary, collaborative, open-minded approaches to innovation? Yes? So does Steven Johnson. The Wall Street Journal called him "one of the most persuasive advocates for the role of collaboration in innovation,” and his work has influenced a variety of industries, including cutting-edge urban planning and the battle against 21st-century terrorism.
We’re excited to announce that Johnson will deliver the closing keynote talk at Discovery Summit Tucson 2019. His message aligns with a major goal of Discovery Summit: to be a collaborative environment where scientists, engineers and researchers learn from each other and from experts in data analysis, all in the name of innovation.
In his latest book Farsighted: How We Make the Decisions That Matter the Most, Johnson examines consequential, once-in-a-lifetime decisions – the ones that will affect our lives for years, or centuries, to come. The book uses examples from cognitive science, social psychology, military strategy, environmental planning and great works of literature. Johnson will sign a complimentary copy of the book for Discovery Summit attendees.
We hope you’ll make plans to join us in Tucson, AZ, Oct. 15-18, to hear Johnson’s unmatched insight into how ideas emerge, spread and affect the world today.
