From 0 to 100% Yield In One Experiment: Bradley Jones, SAS, shares one of his favorite examples of the value of design of experiments.

 

 

“I had an engineer come to me with a problem with a weld. And this welding tool had eight different controls…they had been working with these eight different controls one at a time and had never made a weld that performed as desired – a 0% yield. And so I created an 8-factor designed experiment…they never made a bad weld after that.”
