Why does console and referenced data table reopen when I double-click a .jrp file from Windows explorer?

Citizen_Snips

I have a JMP console and .jmp data table open and two saved (but not opened) .jrp files that reference the saved .jmp data table. When I double-click either of the two saved .jrp files in Windows explorer, they each open a new instance of the JMP console and referenced data table. Shouldn't they be able to use the console and data table that are already open? Is this behavior something I need to specify in the preferences?

I am using 15.1.0.

When you save a report, use red triangle menu, save script, to data table.

Don't save stand alone reports, as jrp's it saves a new and separate instance of the data table. Handy if that's actually what you wanted, but super problematic in every other way.

When you are saving your work in JMP, the very best way is to save the script to the data table, then save the table.
