Using a JSL script to export reports to Word.

I have a script that generates several report tables and would like to add a bit of code that automatically exports the results of the script to a Word document. I have used both "Save As..." and copy & paste methods outside of the script, but have not found a way of capturing the code to include it in my script. Can this be done using JSL?

Do you mean saving your Journal as a word file?

If so try this:

I looked into the Journal option, but it is not really what I need. A journal would be great for repeating the analysis and I save those for any audits that may come around. I am trying to make the script export the resulting tables and graphs that are generated by my initial script into a Word document.

I'd have thought the journal would provide a mechanism to collate a sequence of analyses that you'd find difficult to combine any other way: I tried to do something very similar myself using the journal a while back in JMP 7, and discovered that controlling the size of the charts in the Word document was difficult, as most of the time all the outputs were shrunk to fit the entire journal onto a single page. Since then I've upgraded to JMP 8.0.2, and have just tried running the following script, which now seems to run fine. All three output formats appear identical in MS Word except for the page break, which seems to be lost in HTML:

We do a lot of this. Unfortunately you can't export directly from a dataset to word - you have to put the information into a Journal or tablebox, and then export it.
