Project saving error - "unable to write to file"
Hi all - I'm a relatively newer JMP user, not used to writing scripts, and definitely new to working with JMP Projects. That said, I've been mostly successful with creating and maintaining several different project files, in both JMP 16 and 18. However, with one specific project file, I've started getting the following error: "Project could not be saved due to the following error: unable to write to file (it might be write protected or open in another program)".
I'm able to save the embedded data tables without getting any kind of errors, but when I try to save the overall project this error pops up, even though nothing is open in other programs. I originally created this .jmpprj file in JMP 16 and was able to modify and save it, but started getting this error at some point while still using JMP 16. I recently updated to JMP 18, and am still getting this error with this file. I can't even save the project as a new file - the same error occurs.
I pulled this from the project log - I hadn't thought to look there before. Just confirmed that trying to save the .jmpprj directly triggers the "unable to close zip archive, discarding changes: Failure to create temporary file: No error" message in the log. It seems like maybe the failure to find that first "DOE 2 data analysis.jmp" file could be causing the issues? That file path no longer exists, but this project also shouldn't be referencing that file for anything. It's not listed in the contents of the project, but I don't know how to check what the project is trying to open upon launch or modify that list to remove the DOE 2.jmp or layout window.
Has anyone else seen either error before? I didn't find anything with a quick Google search, or in the existing forum topics. I would also love a reference to resources for how to troubleshoot the missing files the jmpprj is trying to launch - I'm guessing that would involve somehow getting into the scripting, but I haven't gotten to any of that with JMP before, and I'm not sure where to start.
Thanks!
