Permutation procedure for randomized block design

I'm interested in conducting a permutation analysis. I have three treatments, with a randomized block design with seven blocks. I'd like to do a permutation procedure to test both the F value and for posthoc pairwise comparisons.

Please see this documentation for the Simulate feature in JMP Pro.

Re: Permutation procedure for randomized block design

Is the procedure different for a permutation for a block design? 3 treatments x7 blocks. The block effect is not significant.

Re: Permutation procedure for randomized block design

The basis for a permutation test is the null hypothesis for any whole model. That hypothesis states that the response is independent of the factor level changes. So the randomization occurs solely with the responses.

So, no, the procedure is not different for a blocked design.

Thank you. That is very helpful!
