Overlay plot scatter with line and marker

Hi Guys,

Attached is my JMP data, I would like to make a following scatter plot with lines and markers to compare two groups "with DSSA" in red color and "No DSSA" in blue color. Could anyone check the raw data and show me how to create the following plot? Thanks in advance.

The following two plots are what I got, the plot is either with straight lines or the markers are different from part to part.

Re: Overlay plot scatter with line and marker

You can disable variables from the Points plot

And if necessary you can play around with the Overlay Encodings (I think this was added in JMP18 but might have been in 17)

Re: Overlay plot scatter with line and marker

Do you have same data as in the image you wish to replicate? Are your points and lines using same summary statistics?  You can just hide the part numbers from legend menu.

I changed Points to use Mean as summary statistic, note how most of the lines are purple

This is because almost all part no groups have both DSSA values in them -> mean is calculated over both colors -> JMP combines colors.

Re: Overlay plot scatter with line and marker

Hi Jarmo,

I am able to make a plot like what you provided, one row is blue and the second row is red, but how can we overlay the blue and red into the same row? The following is what I got and there are two problems:

(1). Some markers are not connected by the straight lines
(2). The legend color is showing the part numbers, while the original plot that I would like to duplicate does not show the part numbers.

Thank you for your help.
